INTRODUTOIN

The department was established on 1st July 1983. Prof. G. Mahadeva was the the first head of the Department under his leadership and guidance the department developed in to a fully fledged faculty in the college. And Prof M P Natararaju Worked  1986 to 2014, and Asst Prof Manjappa, Asst Prof Sathish, Asst Prof Shivakumar as Working 2014 – 2016, And Asst Prof H G Natarajan joined 2016.

The department presently has well qualified and very enthusiastic professors who are enabled in using ICT for effective teaching.

The Faculty members have regularly been presenting papers in all levels of seminars and always caring for the development of academic stuff of their students.

The department has updated learning resources like Maps, Historical Atlas etc, Which are easily accessible by the students.

Programme Outcome

Students will be able to acquire Knowledge of  Historical Events, Societies, Cultures, Economic Conditions and Geography of  different countries and of different periods.  Students will be able to acquire basic research skills like Data collection, Analysing and Writing. They develop ability to think critically and historically. And Local History of Spicily Dhivan Poornaiahs Achievements Balemantapa  and Shadakshari gaddige etc  at Yalandur

  • To analyses the administration of great rulers Ashoka, Samudra Gupta, Harsha Vardana etc…

II SEM

HISTORY OF  INDIA  (1206 TO 1761 A.D)

This paper is designed to  help the student

  • To understand the political history and Cultural History of      Medieval India
  • To analyses the administrative pattern of the medieval rulers SherShaha, Akbar etc…
  • To compare the society and economy of medieval period with present day Spicily 13th Century Allahuddin Khilgis Economic Rules

III SEM

HISTORY OF MODERN INDIA (1757 TO 1857 A.D)

  • This paper is designed to help the student to understand
    The political changes of the period and expansion of British Empire in  India
  • Structure of  the colonial government, economic policies and its impact, administrative changes

This paper is designed to help the student to understand

  • Establishment of Indian republic, problems and developments of free India
  • Cold War and Israel wars
  • India’s relation with International organizations and contemporary world
  • Modern developments in Asia and struggle against apartheid and Nationalist struggle in Africa and Cuba

The Department of History seek to provide an academically conducive environment that can expose students to  quality education. The department inspires the students to develop a sense of admiration towards Art, Culture & Heritage of  India and many countries. Apart from imparting syllabus based learning, the department also focuses on Architecture, Numismatics, Epigraphy, Edicts, Wars and Folklore. We also nurture our students to stand affirm with their intellect and develop curiosity for learning. We encourage active students’ participation in all the activities of the department and the college for a better tomorrow.
